Well i have used Ugly Stik fishing rods for years now.... And i have to say they are about the best fishing rods in durability and quality i bought and used so far. I could'nt imagine how much i have saved by using the ugly stick fishing rods They are extremely tuff in construction! Only thing bad thing i have seen happen to them is the ceramic line guides in the fishing rods eyes maybe come lose pop out or break but thats after extreme accidents example-- driving over it with a train . .but thats after years and years or hard fishing use on the rod! Its so good i have noticed other fishing rod companies have tried to copy their design! Which is fine i guess if your the consumer trying to find tuff cheap a knock off ... I will recommend ugly sticks to anyone that want to get the best bang for their hard earned buck! Try one today! Lots of different sizes to choose from i think they even made a fly rod at one time! I give the Shakespeare Ugly Stik rods a 9.9 out of 10 and i dont give out easy ratingS! hope this helps folks decide what fishing rod to think about or to buy!

Last ice season i converted a few of my pike tip ups for walleye and perch.. when out at the ice shack i did notice alot of walleye bites and perch taps happening..So i decided if i was using tip ups for the day i would always have at least one set up for walleye and perch... just in case... Even though i was using big full sized smelts minnows the walleye and perch would still take a stab at it and swim away.. So ya next time they would not be so lucky... Heres how i did it... size 6 octopus Gamagatzu hook and a 2ft chunk of 8lb floro-carbon or line of your choice.. I like floro because it is nearly invisible underwater.. and of course one lively minnow... Take a 2ft piece of florocarbon line and then attach it to the already heavy tip up line then tie the size 6 hook to the other end ,, You can bait it with what ever choice bait you use for walleye or perch. I like using live minnows all most the time of the time, or when its allowed . This has to be one of the deadliest Walleye and perch tip up ice combos you can use! Try it and let me know! One other thing is key to the success is this set up working properly Is your tip up has to be set very lightly so the fish can trigger it with ease with less resistance on the trigger mechanism! Its Like setting a trap trigger lightly ... Best of luck and look i think i see a Tip up Flag up ITS time to RUN!!

Duck Mountains Fishing Trip
May 20 - 24 2011..
A fishing pal from back home and I went to the duck mountains to do some fly fishing for few days,
We fished East blue lake in the ducks it was slow the first time out then but tryed it again and on the second trip there we landed into a nice sized laker from shore..
Then we tryed Gull lake and did very well like normal..
The temperatures and weather conditions changed alot.. quite cool and wet/ rainy Perfect trout weather really.
Did notice the bigger trout were full of eggs and were near the bottom more..
A guy could get really spoiled on those lakes thats forsure!
Overall it was a excellent time and we put the fly rods to the test that trip!~
hope it becomes a annual fishing event every year..

Super Advice Lunker however you forgot a thing or too i would bring along a a few small flat fish/l lazy ike lures in small sizes, And a assortment of fly's just in case.. Also sometimes a row sack with some fresh trout eggs will work wonders, more to be used on the hard water for the row sacks or early spring.. Best of luck Jimmy!
