Been hitting the trout in the side creeks from Pulaski west. Most of the fish are comming on fresh trout eggs.

When it come to trout I have tried it all. Salmon egss power bait ,jigs, flies, every plug I own and not to mention what some of my fellow guides and clients have whiped out of the boat . In 6 years as a guide I have seen almost of all of it.Nothing beats trout eggs hands down.I have seen guys right next to me with trout eggs and I have Put a hurting on a many trout not to mention turned alot of heads.Alot of people dont understand the biology or the anatomy off fresh eggs .In order to be fresh they need to be harvested while the fish is still alive!!!! Late fall is the best and Brown trout are the eggs you want . 90 per cent of the 5 lbs I need for the years trips are taken in november when the trout are loose. Upon capture of the female Carefuly get a non fatal hand on the fish. By gently pressing from the top of the belly down the eggs shoot out rather easily. WHEN YOU HAVE GOT 1/2 the eggs release the fish . Keep all excess fluid that goes into you bucket or plastic bag and put them on ice right away. When I do arrive home with my bucket of gold I put them in freezer bags .Dont put to many in a bag I put enough to tie 100 dime sized eggs sacs.I dont use no cure on the eggs until I unthaw them. Most of the time I use pro cure or fresh eggs .But a lil bit of mollasses does the trick rather well.I always have 3 types of eggs in my arsenal. Fresh,Mollasas and pro cure.On any given day the bite can change and I have seen days where all 3 have out done each other.

Well Rich that sure was a big brown . And yes eggs rule!!! Its tough to milk the fish and let them go so we do have to take an occasional fish to keep our stash full. Me and Jeff keep around 5- 7 lbs for both of us for the season. Making the egg sacs suck and there no easy way to put it . I spent at least 40 hours just making eggs this fall. But there worth every hour
