Howdy northStar welcome aboard
And congrats on buying one of those mike da pike decoys..
I always try to help out a fellow angler as much as i can. When you buy a decoy like Mike Da pikes your buying is part of hard water spearing decoy history. Keep em use em collect them.. Those decoys are gonna be worth top dollar if you choose to sell them i wouldnt cause hes pal of mine..But if you do your gonna get ten fold back for your investment now,,
Some things you just dont sell off.. im kinda funny that way i guess...

Grand Rapids F.N., Mb. July 14, 2008
On July 13, 2008 at 9 p.m. the Grand Rapids RCMP received a report of a young child trapped in a truck that was sinking in the Saskatchewan River on Grand Rapids First Nation.
Upon arriving on scene RCMP members found the male child (four years old) in a local fisherman's boat and CPR was being performed by the fishermen and a local Band Constable. The Band Constable got the child breathing just as members arrived. Members then assisted with first aid and transported the child to the local Nursing Station. The child was subsequently stabilized and medevac to Children's Hospital in Winnipeg. The child is reportedly in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing but it appears that the child was in the truck with a family member, when they stopped to pick something up at a local residence. The vehicle was left running and the child somehow got the vehicle in gear and drove down the bank into the river. Four local fishermen were on shore nearby, they immediately launched a boat and dove down into the strong current, breaking a window allowing the child to float to the surface where he was picked up and taken into shore.
The quick action and bravery of the Fisherman as well as their life saving skills and those of the of the Band Constable, without a doubt saved the child's life. The public is reminded to never leave a child unattended in a vehicle no matter how short the time period.
Alcohol was not a factor in this incident. The investigation continues.
THIS IS ONE FOR THE ANGLERS WAY TO GO GUYS!!
THESE ANGLERS DESERVE A METAL FOR BRAVERY!!

I would have to say TRILENE XT 12-14 lbs test what i use with no problems at all!! Stren is the second runner up aswell 12-14 is my choice.. The hardest part of a good balanced rod reel and line combo is finding the right line that works for you all the time.. *SERIOUSLY Try the Berkley trilene XT you wont be sorry its reasonable in price too!!!...

I would say try Rabbit strip flys in colors red and white top choice or Large Zonkers even bass poppers.. deicevers work too but they should be big,, At least a size 2 hook.. Then make sure you have a decent fly leader for pike something tuff enough not to be chewed threw,,, Make sure when going after pike with the fly your fly is large at least 3 - 5 inches in length.. something flashy,,, Im no expert but i found these ones to work good... Heres a few simular..

Very good point creekhunter, one more thing though when collecting older lures you should try buy and or find lures with original packaging or lure boxes. It seems vintage lures are worth way more if they have the orginal boxes... Some of the lure boxes have exceptional art work and printing work wiith classic slogans from the early fishing lure industry, you cant go wrong even collecting a mint shape box of some these lures. Heres a example of one of my favorite lure companys The creek chub
