help got stung by a catfish side barbs ouch!!

Fishing for channel Cats yesterday this happened to me.
I got stung in the hand by a lil bullhead catfish whats the best thing to do to stop this stinging burning sensation? seriously it took almost a hour to go away and now it still hurts today the next day. Worst part about it the fish was only about 10 inches long!!!!
They are fast really fast and those barbs are sure sharp!
before i knew it the little brute nailed me good
any advise for next time this happens so i can pack something in my tackle box to be prepared.

Jigger sad to hear that you got nailed , those little Catfish can give you one hell of a sting forsure. I heard from a old catfishermen way down south if he gets barbed he rubs a lil bit of the fishes slime coating on the area and the stinging stops right away he swears by it . I cant say how sanitary this is but if it works and takes away the pain why not?
