Im from brandon manitoba, I fish southern manitoba at williams lake.I went there last weekend and caught 27 smallmouth bass.Between the 2 of us, the two biggest were 6 and 7 pounds. im just getting into bass fishing. AWSOME !!!We were using frogs, big frogs, on #4 mustad hook (great hooks) if not a big frog,2 or 3 small frogs on the hook. Just let it sink to the bottom along a weed bed, give it a fu jigs and there they are every time ;D

Actually Rick we are really going for walleye and northerns, but I understand that in some parts of Canada smallmouth are an untapped fishery. I do fish alot for bass in northern Indiana and sothern Michigan.
