Slow flat-line trolling a Rapala Husky Jerk, Blue & Silver. I caught most of them in 7-12 ft. of water near a deep (25 ft.) drop-off.

So they like the deep water hmm do you ever find them in shallow water? like weed beds and small bays? oh ya can you catch them in the rivers there?

I've seen a lot of them in 3 ft. of water, but they seem to hit better in the 7-12 ft. range. Yes, they are in the Mohawk River just 1/2 a mile from where I live. Big as gators too.

I've never tried fly fishing per se. It's on my "to do" list though. One of these days........
