stripped bass are a unique type of fish to me as Im not to familar with the bass speies. Im from alberta , canada . Lots of walleye northern pike and grayling. Are those type of bass rare to catch?

Strippers aren't rare but you can only catch them in certain area's. Mostly from Maryland up to Mass. In the saltwater and rivers. I've caught quite a few in my day in the Hudson & Deleware rivers also the Long Island sound, ranging from 1 to 40+ pounds. Unfortunately this is the only one I ever took a picture of. I plan on getting more in the near future and will be sure to keep a pic. or two. As a mater of fact Sunday 9/18/05 just before dark my buddy Kevin reelem'in Riley caught a small 5 pounder on a tub jig in the deleware.
