Hey ProBass, I agree with you on the natural bait for walleye. Either fishing ice or open water it seems to do the best job for me. Worms or minnows are another question.

I think the delaware river is the only place in the US that you can use them, but the walleyes in the delaware love baby lampray ells (4-8in.long). The only problem is you can't buy them because it's illegal to sell them in the US. So you actually have to dig for them in the river. It's hard work but worth all the hits you get. Oh, you just lip them on a weighted jig and troll slowly through the holes or cast and bounch them on the bottom.

You know since i moved and i am fishing in a new area I dont really knowwhats in the water like feeding minnows ect. But that last post you made bird banger makes sense. Reminds me one day i was down at my favorite river fishing spot fishin for walleye and carp. I stuck my hand along side of this rock and pulled out one of those lamprey eels that was hideing in the current, it was ugly!!. But you know thats what the bigger walleyes are eating there, cause i tried a tube jig that i had that resembled the lampreys and sure enough in no time had on some big walleyes. And only big walleyes no small ones. 25 + inchs every one i had on.

OK boyz Not to be a dark cloud on this topic but I find when you find the right color jig and jig head you can reel em in just as good if not better as bait trust me. Just gotta keep casting and switchin up the bait till you find something that works best,

;D You are absolutely correct. I started fishing 95% of the time with jigs and plastics. And like you said, when you find the color combo of the day you're in for a good time. Here's a link to a guy that supplies hair jigs. They are hand tied and I actually met the creator Bill Alexander. Big time bass and walleye fisherman. They work great. Email him requesting an order form and he'll send you info and pics on the jigs.
