Well i was in the dollar store and i noticed those lil glow sticks for kids. The ones you break and they glow for about 4 -5 hours any ways i had the idea to use them for the tip of my fishing rod for night fishing for walleye and catfish. They work good they last about 4hours.I just break em and tape em to the tip of my fishing rod. ya i use black electrical tape, it works good. And for 99cents for 4, every tackle box should have a few.

we have proper chemical sticks in the Uk for fishing or if you can get them Beta Lights which are small isotopes and have an active life of about 30years. They tend to cost about £15 tho.

Now that sounds really good. Are you allowed to use them as a bait, or is it just a way for you to light up the tip of your fishing rods? I wish ours lasted 30years. The most hours you get outta these ones are about 4-6 hours then they start getting dim. I dont use them for bait just for the end so you can see the bites or slight vibrations in the dark by the river bank as you fish for walleye and Catfish. Its better than bells because the bells allways fly off or are not sensitive enough.
