I hate the bugs this year its crazy and i hate useing off or and other bug replent with deet and all that fun stuff. So i made a smudge pot outta of a old paint can and lid and it works great. Drilled a few holes near the bottom and circular pattern at the top for air . One lil problem though you get kinda SMOKEY after fishing but it works great ,and every one else that doesnt have one in the area has more a bug free fishing experience as well. Yep tryed it yesterday at the dam worked like a charm enjoyed myself for a few hours of fly fishin as my lil pot smoldered had a smoke. All you do is search around the edge of the river or lake for dry drift wood found a handfull and it lasted about 4 hours not bad then add a lil grass on top after it catches well put on the lid and presto no more bugs well a few but nothing like with out it. You know you could probley even heat a small tea kettle on it as well. just a idea
