I agree with going barbless when fishing it makes the release way easier and quicker and more of a challenge when fighting a fish out.. How ever if your regs require you to go barbless then heres a trick to keep that bait of any type barbless hook your using.. Get a hole paper puncher the hand held type work the best and then find a old inner tube out of a bike tire.. Or any thin rubber you can find.. |NEXT cut the tubeup in nice flat square sections with sissors and start hole punching the tube you will have perfect little rubber circles you can use to hold on the bait... How to use them? Ok put the bait on first like normal and then use one or two of those small circles you just made after the bait.. Its tuff to put on but its tuff to get off.. BETTER THAN A BARBED HOOK!! Try it out!! Ok so you dont have a old inner tube or whole puncher well then heres another techique i use instead of throwing out those old rubber jig tails.. Use a exacto knife and start cutting those jigs up like you would be sliceing fine pepperoni or a block of cheese in small little sections or circles you can use as bait stoppers.. Its a good way to recycle up those old tails.. Not just that think of all the different possible color combonations you can try,, I find the yellow tails cut up that way when used with Nightcrawlers workd deadly on carp..
