HERES HOW TO MAKE BARBLESS BAIT STOPPERS I agree with going barbless when fishing it makes the catch and release way easier and quicker .. How ever if your regs require you to go barbless then heres a trick to keep that bait of any type on you barbless hook you are using.. Get a paper hole puncher the hand held type works the best and then find a old inner tube out of a bike tire.. Or any thin rubber you can find.. ~NEXT Cut that inner tube up into a nice flat square section with sissors and then start hole punching the tube.. You will have perfect little black rubber circles you can use to hold on the bait on your barbless hook ... How to use them? Ok put the bait on first like normal and then use one or two of those small circles you just made after the bait.. Its tuff to put on but its tuff to get off.. ITS WORKS BETTER THAN A BARBED HOOK ANY DAY!! Try it out!! Ok so you dont have a old bike inner tube or whole puncher well then heres another techique i use instead of throwing out those old rubber jig tails from tackle box ..I Use a exacto knife and start cutting up those old jigs tails like you would be sliceing up a fine pepperoni sausage or block of cheese in small little sections or circles you can use as bait stoppers.. Its a good way to recycle up those old tails.. Not just that think of all the different possible color combonations you can try,, I find the yellow jig tails i cut up when used with Nightcrawlers works deadly on carp.. If you have any other methods for Bait stoppers please post them SAGE
