Just wondering what type of water insects these are? I found a few of them near the lake shore when i was fishing for trout. I watched them swim around for a bit then i seen a streak of silver with spots engulf a few right before me. It couldn't have been more than three feet from shore. Yep a good sized rainbow trout had noticed what i noticed and decided to make a meal out of them. So after i saw that i was wishing i had a fly rod right then and there. I bet if a guy could get good with the fly rod and tye up a few of these lil bugs he would be catching the trout all day...

Those are called scuds or commonly known as freshwater shrimp a flyfishermens best friend for trout they vary in color greens and light olive colors are common. Trout are generally stuffed full of them, thats what they feed on through out the days/months. And when i go out icefishing for jumbo perch after drilling the hole you sometimes see a few swinning around near the top of the hole. Jumbo Perch feed on them as well. Well really who would give up a shrimp meal would you? ;D
