Ice fishing in Canada
Well its fall and winter is on its way. The feeling of the cold air sparks the ice-fisherman in me and cant wait for the upcoming ice fishing season to start in Canada. The long winter days and nights are perfect times for ice fishing. It can be fun and a great family outing. OK to be a successful ice fisherman you have a ice shanty or better yet make one that will keep you warm as you fish on your favorite frozen lake or pond. Once that is created or bought your on your way. Their is not a better feeling in the world of pulling up a 10-20 pound northern pike through the ice by hand. It may sound easy but you have to out smart and fight the fish quickly or it is sure to get away. It takes time to master the art of getting the ice fishing. But hey winter is long and living in Canada we have some of the best lakes for the sport. So see you out there and remember the worse that could happen is you might slip in your hole and get a boot full of ice.

Finally a lil snow and some decent colder temperatures to freeze the lake nicely.

I can honestly say i never seen a winter like this so far. Usually about this time of year we are adding a extension to the jiffy ice auger just to get through the ice. I'm not complaining mind you but i sure hope it doesn't last forever. All we need now is a few nice hot days and all the snow will be gone.,

Sorry bigtymeangler for not replying sooner i get lost in the posts. Ok heres what I like to use, Berkley's subzero ice line it stays ice free and is quite strong. I would say if your ice fishing for pike use 12 plus. Hope that helps ya out.

hi there fellow ice fishermen
I just have to state this, my apologies go out to all the members who have posted questions or pics on the last ice-fishing 2005 section for some reason the sites server crashed meaning a technical error happened and now we have lost some information actually the whole section of ice-fishing 2005 has vanished and has been deleted some how. I have tryed everything to restore it as it was but no luck yet. I really enjoyed that section and i am disappointed in losing such interesting questions and pics contributed by fellow dedicated members. So i will try to rebuild the ice-fishing section again for those who love fishing the hard-water. And please if you have any ideas how to make this new 2006 ice fishing section better than the last one. post your ideas here.
Sincerely:
Metal angler
