Ya i agree to some extent, ya i agree with the freshness of the smaller walleye for sure. And selective harvesting will help more than it damages the population. Kinda the same problem here catching Big Walleye over 25 inchs thats all you friggin catch!! Smaller ones are valued and are in demand. In a way i think it kinda doesnt help all these anglers catching big walleye all the time like they arent gonna keep some. Ya right. A lake back in Alberta that i grew up and fished lots, use to be a very very good lake for Northern pike big ones, small ones.meduim ones ect no problem going out there catching what you needed or landing into a 15-20 lbs+ northerns was common. Then the fish and game decided to put a new reg on walleye in that lake ZERO keep limit. what a bad mistake in my oppinion. Sure you can go out and catch walleye all day big ones lil ones ectect. But try to catch pike nope its like they dissapeared. They totally change the balance in that lake!! No feed for the pike!! They walleye population exploded and they starved out the pike!! any ways thanks for your veiw on the link i posted. It was to show how good these electric knifes work for fish. The video posted has a comment area to leave your comment if you wish to leave one its posted on Utube

YO ice anglers! check this slick lil reel out i found on ebay! Its a automatic reel it reels in automatically! JUst imagine setting up a few of these on the the end of the ole tipups ! Im gonna try em out on Perch. Just set it up and not worry about running to the flag now! What a dandy invention. AND CHEAP! heres a link to buy them if any one is interested. !! cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320050598107Heres what the ebay add said YOYO REEL! Hi your looking at a BRAND NEW, STILL IN THE PACKAGE YO YO Automatic Fishing Reel. If you have never heard of anything like this let me try and explain how great it is. Basically you hook it on the side of your boat, a dock, for icefishing, or jugfishing and you just kick back and wait. Whenever a fish bites the bait you have on the reel THIS WILL AUTOMATICALLY HOOK THE FISH, REEL HIM IN, AND HOLD HIM UNTIL YOU GET THERE! You dont have to do anything except take him off the line and clean him for dinner. I personally set a few of these dangling off my dock while im throwing lures into the water with my rod&reel. Another thing i noticed that these are good for is for when you go camping they make excellent clotheslines, and automatic duck decoy line retrievers. Maybe thats just me though. Strong, lasting, and durable Plated to prevent rust Stainless steel spring 20ft. of 60lb. test nylon line Simple, easy to use Adjustable line tension Tried & tested for years Thousands in use

Well hello there BB welcome back to the site, and yes i agree with your vexilar knowledge i have been reading about them quite abit. however not to downplay the units or anything but if you know your lakes i feel you dont really need one It sure is a nice lil peice of equipment a lil pricey though for the average iceangler i think. But who knows maybe a few icefishing companys or sonar companys will make a production line of affordable ice units strictly for ice fishing. Hopefully "If they did they would make millions!" I think you meant the company Lowerance in the post above? Ya they were the first company to bring out the sonar units called the "Lil green box" It was the first unit made in the late 50s for icefishing and fishing in general. The real purpose of the units was a millitary purpose Detecting Submarines Great post guys
