I use a older Lowrance fish finder 460
This unit still works very good you can set to sound off a buzzer if a fish swims by or nibbles your bait minnow! l
I would be lost with out it!! Its just as good or better than new 500 buck Vexilars units..

When i went fishing for rainbow trout and browns about a week ago this what happened. I was close to shore in float tube on one my favorite lakes for RB trout. Out of the corner of my eye i observed a little brown mouse swimming just past the weed beds on the along shore line. Watching the little bugger i thought he better hurry up so i watched and i wonder if a trout would actually eat him or not? And you bet all i heard and seen was a quick splash a big fin and he was gone !!Right in front of my eyes he was devoured. Just thought i would let ya all know it was cool considering most i thought trout eat only a insects and maybe a odd minnow or too. If they are big enough. [glow=red,2,300]Poor little mouse HA!!!!![/glow] So after seeing that I tied on a VERY old mouse fly popper i had for bass and casted close to the area where the mouse got nailed and bang and in a few short tugs of the fly line to make the mouse imitation swim and across the water I had the fish on! The fish fought like a crazy fish it was huge rainbow i would say 8-10 pounds!. Jumping in the air, water walking, twisting ,on the surface just not giving in at all.. He caught me off guard my line tangled on my reel SNAP!!Broke he my tippet!!! never got him!!!!!!!!!! Dammit!! ;D [glow=red,2,300]But what a good fight and a experience of a life time![/glow]

Jk for pike i like using live bait like a large fat headed minnow on a bobber set up. All i do is set up my bobber with the minnow so its suspended in the water about a foot or two from the bottom. Then all you have to do is wait and hold on.
